How Is Inpatient Care Different From Other Mental Health Care?
During your mental health journey, you'll find several different levels of treatment to fit different needs. You may already receive outpatient mental health care in the form of regular psychiatrist or doctor appointments. After those appointments, you go home and follow your everyday routine.
Abseil Heights provides psychiatric care at a more intensive level. Our psychiatric treatment facility has safe living accommodations that can provide 24-hour care. You’ll receive daily psychotherapy and medical treatment until you’re feeling well enough to go back to your usual life activities. We will help you work with any diagnosed psychiatric disorders and teach you coping skills for managing your overall mental health.

What to Expect in Psychiatric Care at Abseil Heights
How Long Will I Be Here?
The length of your stay depends on the state of your mental health and how well you respond to treatment. You may be with us for only a few days or several weeks. We will never rush your treatment and will work with you to decide when you are ready to be discharged. We'll create a personalized care plan with goals for your mental health. We'll work with you to achieve those goals as you progress through treatment. Before you leave, we'll create an aftercare plan so you can continue your progress.
What Does Treatment Include?
Evidence-based psychotherapy is the foundation of our mental health services. You’ll participate in one-on-one therapy and group therapy every day. In individual therapy, you’ll work one-on-one with a licensed therapist in a private setting. During group therapy, a trained clinician leads a group of no more than 15 individuals in discussions about common mental health experiences.
Your personal care plan will determine the types of therapy you will encounter. While no two patients' therapy sessions look the same, you can expect to learn more about :
- Your mental health disorders
- How to identify triggers and symptoms
- Healthy coping skills
- How to change unhelpful thought patterns
- How to replace negative behaviors with good ones
Will You Medicate Me?
Medication can be a powerful tool in conjunction with therapy for treating mental health issues. Medication can help balance brain chemistry or take the edge off symptoms, so treatment is more effective. Your personal care plan may include medication like antidepressants or anxiety relievers. Our staff will manage your medication to ensure you receive proper dosage and prevent adverse side effects.
